I can empathize with the "better than boobs" statement. I love women's bare feet. A barefoot woman is sooo sexy! As someone said earlier (and very well I might add) it is something associated with being naked, a part of the body not always seen. I remember a "Leave it to Beaver" episode where his elementary school teacher, Ms. Landers, comes to his house for dinner. She is dressed as a dinner guest, not a teacher and has on open shoes of some kind. She notices the Beaver staring down and asks him if something is wrong. Beaver replies "Ms. Landers,........you've got toes!"
