The first girl I really liked was over the internet... the thing is, if we did meet, we'd be friends, but I felt that what we had was a real sort of love. But not a real sort of relationship love. You have to keep it in perspective.
This is a good point. I read the article. Read the posts. Thought hard about it. and then borrowed a page from Penn's book. It's easier just to be honest with people, that way you don't have to remember what you said and to who. Having said that, being honest does equate with being naive. I am about the most jaded cynic around, but try and look for the good in people. Remember most of all, keep it in perspective. Very wise advice Fox.
Caveat's post made me smile. I chose my name out of Greek mythology. Chiron is the name of the centaur teacher to the gods. I have a centaur tattoo on my arm. Still haven't figured out how to shrink the picture down to avatar size. If someone does know how, please let me know and I'll post it.
Truth in advertising time? Ok, I lost my hearing in an accident going on ten years ago. I had to literally rebuild my life. I don't behave like a deaf person does. I take care to pronounce every word carefully. I read lips very well. If you had a conversation with me, you'd never know. (Unless you turned away while speaking to me.) Does hearing loss make me less of a man? The answer is an unequivocal no. I've found it made me a better person. I don't have to make this stuff up. My life is interesting enough as it is. It's never boring, let me tell you.
well,as an old hand on our site, and not too often in chat,or posting.....and..NO,i have not been in jail........anyway,it was a bum wrap!!...LOL...i have already posted on this subject in the past,so i will not elaborate further, other than to say...if you are not,for any strange reason,a GENUINE PERSON!!!,then stay away from our site....far too many nice and good people here.......a lot of people will not recognise my name,LOL....but i am still here.... .......take care, and enjoy our site.........silver,xxxx
Nope. Don't wonder about it at all, just go with the flow. I say let people be exactly who they are, and they will astonish and entertain you with the essence of who they are.
Love you's guys.

Whoa.......this made me seriously consider my entire aspect on 'cyber reality'..........should i be less like myself and become cautious, planning and being severe?
NAH! LOL
i can't even see the point in pretending to be someone else, especially if you know your personality suits you down to the ground and nobody could believe it belonged to anyone else......no one else wanted it
I really respect my beautiful buddies for sharing their stories, you guys are the greatest, setting an example just the right way and all that jazz.
You all rock........and thats what i think these people who are so upset with their own selves need to be told. Someone just needs to say...."look...seriously, you rock just the way you are"
I love saying it to people, the happiness those two little words bring is amazing. So i leave here saying....find someone and remind them that "they rock" just the way they are

Yup. Always keep in mind, online and off: you don't know something until you really know it for sure. Legal docs, credit card statements, twenty people who know the person and tell you the same thing; those are real. I had an ex who showed me pictures of god knows who- all the people in them she talked about- the stories, the dates, even what state she was in- she made all of it up. She even invented family members to tell me about. What's scarier, she was damn good at it, never slipped or got twisted up once. Have fun lusties, and get your groove on, but remember- you never really know some things for sure

Due to some recent problems and complaints around here I thought it was a good time to dig this thread back up.

Have you ever wondered who it is you are actually talking to online?
The Lusty Librarian gave me an article to read, and I thought I would share it with all of you. It was very interesting and really got my wheels turning.
One of the beauties of chatting online is being able to create a new persona for yourself, utilizing the characteristics you are less likely to display in the real world with the anonymity the internet allows. However, unfortunately some people take this a bit to far.
So check out this article! Beware, it is a bit long, but well worth the read!!

Just a quick reminder... This thread is meant to discuss the topic at hand. This is a serious problem in the world today, and I think its time a few people take a close look.
If you would like to start a "Have you ever..." thread similar to the "What do you wonder..." thread, feel free. But please stick to the topic here.
