Joanne looked at herself in the mirror and darted back into her closet. Her outfit was all wrong, she quickly took it off and added it to the already growing pile by her bed. She had no idea what to wear on her date. Of course, this wasn’t any ordinary outing. Joanne was on her way to meet with a very successful couple, whom she had only spoken to over the Internet. It was not at all like her to do something like online dating, but she figured you only live once. Joanne tried on a slinky black dress that hugged her curves perfectly. She admired her figure in the mirror. The dress was cut low enough to grab your attention, but was long enough to be seen as evening. Yeah this was the one, she thought to herself. She hurried down the steps of her apartment and into the limo the couple had sent for her. She looked around the lavish surroundings and helped herself to a glass of champagne. The bubbles tickled her nose and her throat as the cold liquid helped calm her nerves. The driver took her away from her familiar surroundings and onto the other side of town. She rolled down the window and stared like a child at the lavish homes that only got bigger as the trip progressed. When they reached their destination she sat back and waited for him to open the door. The driver, an older gentleman, helped her get out of the car. She balanced herself for a second forgetting she had put on such high heels. “Thank you,” she said shyly to the man. “You’re most welcome Miss.” She looked ahead of her at the mansion. It was hard to believe that minutes before she had been amongst a sea of tiny apartment complexes. She grabbed on tightly to her clutch purse and made her way inside. When she reached the entrance, the double doors opened without her having to knock. A small frail woman stepped out to greet her. “Good evening Miss.” She said. “The ladies await you in the sitting room.” Joanne smiled and tried to hide the case of nerves that had crept back up. The tiny lady led the way. Joanne followed her through several large rooms until they reached the sitting area where Tara and Beth sat next to each other on a beautiful red velvet couch, which had obviously been the inspiration for the room. They both got up and greeted Joanne with a lingering kiss on the cheek. The way they moved in unison one would have thought they were twins instead of lovers. I guess that’s what years of living together does to you, Joanne thought as she smiled at the pair. She sat down on the couch between them. Up close they were even more beautiful than they had appeared in their online pictures. Joanne could feel her palms were sweaty. She was trying her best to relax, but the way they both stared at her so intently wasn’t making that easy. Joanne looked to her left at Tara. She was a beautiful red haired woman with long luscious lashes that could be accused of being false. She smiled at her and Tara smiled back, not saying a word. Joanne then turned to face Beth on her right. She was Tara’s opposite, a beautiful blonde with the bluest eyes. They were literally night and day. “You guys were much more talkative on line,” Joanne said with a nervous giggle. “I’m sorry.” Tara said. “It’s just you’re so much more attractive |
