CHARTING THE CYBER SEA

Nomadic mariners set adrift ~
faceless names in failing ships ~
endless tacks with little breeze ~
lonely barques on a cyber sea.

Two bows brush in darkest night ~
two hands touch in briefest flight ~
          two souls meet unwittingly ~
explorers adrift on a cyber sea.

Two crafts merge as a single ship ~
wanderers joined in passion's grip ~
          undiscovered ghostly entities ~
loosely anchored on a cyber sea.

Grasping sailors cling ‘til dawn ~

when both breath and site are gone.

Love's mystery carved out so brutally ~

forever separated on a cyber sea.

Spectral lovers fleeing their pasts ~
two bleak futures lashed to the mast ~
return to port as love’s debris ~
floating…..burning on a cyber sea.

Layla, Thank you so much for your generous comments on "Charting the Cyber Sea". Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I don't check my stories and poems that often, esp since I'm not here that much anymore. Again, thanks! Lushi

When it's all that you have....
That was rough! I feel pain in this. I had to read this again this morning and I am glad I did. The meaning became clearer to me. Love... Desire... That can't be had. Though the talk, sharing intimate moments, the portal will only allow so much.... unfortunately, it will never allow what you want so much...the touch. And so it goes. Good Work... Montana

A true poem of meaning for all who sail on... cyber seas.
A true poem of meaning for all who sail on... cyber seas. You are a rare sailor to crew any cyber voyage on uncharted oceans, seas or skies, with all it's emotional storms; a true sailor on our common voyage with yet unseen stories and poems not yet posted on or in our common ocean sea or skies. This is a rare poem for our times and I am honored to be sailing on the same cyber world you voyage. Perhaps well touch and pass in poetry or just pas by on a stormy cyber winter night sky. May the cyber winds blow gently across your bow and fill your sails with sparkling memories of our ever changing cyber sea and sky and may your craft sustain your yet not taken voyages on many a calm or storm. Just grand, a sparkling jewel high above our canopy of stories and poems on yet unknown voyages yet not taken. Thanks so much for posting it! SlowHand at the helm of yet another ship in a world of ever changing cyber sea and sky. Thanks for sailing on our sea of poetry.

 A rememberance..
When I read this, I was reminded of a visit I made to Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. The poet, Conrad Aiken is buried there and the inscription on his grave is "Cosmos Mariner - Destination Unknown". You expanded on that thought and gave it life in this poem. Poignant and very moving....

Tu mia luna tu sei qui con me

 Says it all, no?
2luscious has written a poem of great courage and strength here. It had to be hard because it is so true. Yet in coming to port, maybe we can return sometimes with someone who is more than ordinary. Someone with a great soul, full of love and passion, and eyes for you. One day this beautiful poem may be followed by another, to tell of things rare and "strangely" romantic. In short, this lady's writing makes my heart pound! Please don't stop 2luscious!!

 Charting the Cyber Sea
This is an amazing poem Luscious. I think it accurately portrays the reality of our LL cyber world.. two hearts meeting in the night, becoming one.. then going our separate ways...hoping to meet again soon. It is a stark and brutally honest, yet erotic, truth of our times. You did a wonderful job of capturing a reality. I look forward to more of your insights! Nauti-ker
