I’m walking down the quiet street on my way home, as I do every night after work in the bar. I can feel that I’m being watched but every time I turn around there’s no-one there. I stop and look around … still nobody to be seen. I can’t hear anything, just a feeling of not being alone. I carry on walking and hurry my footsteps towards home; as I turn the corner I look back and just see a glimpse of something black moving in a doorway, then it disappears completely. I shiver and walk on quickly. I walk up the hill and round the bend where the path gets much darker; the light’s been out for so long we are all fed up of complaining about it. I hear a noise behind me and swing round just as a hand clamps firmly over my mouth, I try to scream but can’t … an arm holds me tightly against a firm body. A deep, masculine voice whispers in my ear, “Don’t struggle, do as you’re told and it won’t hurt as much.” What was he thinking of? Of course I’m struggling .. kicking and wriggling to get out of his arms. Why am I just going to stand here and do what he says for goodness sake! As I’m thinking this, his arm is tightening around me and his hand is pulling my head back against his shoulder until my head is bent right back and all I can see is the sky, the stars twinkling above me; he easily turns me and moves me across the street. I’m struggling against his hold but it makes no difference; he pulls me where he wants me to go. We go through the open door of the building opposite, and as we go through the door it closes behind us with a thud, followed by the final click of a lock as a key is turned. That sound penetrates my mind. His hands are on me. I can’t see anyone else. I’m still struggling but he is holding me easily. But still the door closed and a lock was turned. Oh god! there’s someone else here too. I try to scream again but all that comes out is a squeak and a croak as the hand muffles my cries for help. The building is an old shop, boarded up now, unused. Suddenly it’s filled with light and I can see the room as it’s never been before. It’s been changed into a room of horrors- hooks and chains hang from the ceiling and the top part of the walls. He lets my head go from its awkward resting place and I can see wooden frames and bars standing against the walls and on the floor, tables standing along the wall with things laid out in rows, things I’ve never seen before, odd shaped bats, leather strips with balls attached, whips. I begin to shake in terror. My eyes scan further round the room and come to rest on the other side of the room and a woman standing near the door smiling at me. She’s wearing a black leather basque and fishnet stockings with stilettos. What is this place? Who is she? Why am I here? All this runs through my mind but I

Well done A very good start to a story that holds the promise of pain and it's ensuing
