It was late on Friday evening as I entered the casino. I had seen the sign for it on the highway, and when I walked in I did what I usually do when I go to a casinos; I headed straight for the black jack table. Looking around it was not busy at all for a Friday, but that was just fine with me. As I sat down there were four other players at the table, two young girls and one older guy. I cashed in one thousand, as I usually do, and started to play.
I had a good feeling all day; that is how I ended up there I supposed, but I soon realized that it was not the case at this table. I lost most of my money, and when I looked around the older guy was gone; it was just the three of us. So what did I do? I cashed in the last two hundred I had, and kept on playing. When that was gone I said that will do it for me and started to get up, but then one of the girls looked at me and said, “Please don’t go. Our luck has changed since you sat down, and we have made a lot of money. Don’t go,” she said again.
My response was short; I did not have any more money. To that she said, “Here is some of our chips, just stay and keep playing.”
“Well why not,” I said, but those did not last long either and I had to leave.
As I got up and left the table and got about all the way to the exit, I felt somebody tap me on my shoulder. As I turned around I saw that it was one of the girls for the black jack table. “Hi, my name is Melissa and this is my friend Heather; we just wanted to thank you for staying and playing some more, you see, we just cannot lose when you are at that table, and if you are up for it maybe if we give you some more chips you can keep playing and we can keep wining.”
I looked right at her and said, “I am very pleased to meet you; my name is Andy, and I thank you for the offer but I cannot just take your money, even if it is just so you can make money on the deal.”
At this point the other girl spoke up. “Ok, then you can owe it to us.”
“What do you mean I can owe it to you?”
“Well here, this is ten chips worth a thousand dollars, and here is an I.O.U. card; just sign it and we can all get back to playing at the table before they change the dealers on us.”
“Well what about if I lose all of this, what happens next?”
“Then you will owe it to us,” the first girl said.
“Sure why not.” I signed the card and we all went back to play.
One half hour later there I was with no money and the girls were still winning, except now they had four I.O.U. cards signed by me. At this point I said, “I am done here. I have to leave before I sell my soul to the devil.”
The pith boss came over and handed me a card for a free luxury suit at the casino; it was for all the money I had lost that day. The girls looked up and said, “You know, if you want to stay all you have
