Emma worked the graveyard shift in the emergency room at St. Vincent’s hospital. She was a gregarious lady pushing her fiftieth birthday. You would never know it by her looks. She could have passed for a forty year old, and a hot forty year old at that. She had a way about her that immediately put the patients at ease. She was one of those rare people who could fit in well no matter where she went. From all outward appearances she was just a normal lady, but Emma had a wild side that she kept hidden from the rest of the world. She rarely met anyone who she was comfortable enough around to let that side of her out of its cage. Emma had always been fascinated by BDSM. She wanted to get into that lifestyle, but never knew anyone who could, show her the ropes, so to speak.
She had no problem getting dates but could never find anyone who shared her dark interests.
One afternoon before work, she decided that she would put a personal ad on one of the internet personal sites. Within a week her profile had generated over a thousand hits. Most of the guys who responded to her ad were typical professionals. She had no problems with that type of guy but she was looking for someone different. She had been out with enough yuppies already. She finally figured if she was going to find someone different she would have to look for them.
On her next night off she sat down at her computer and started searching through the men’s profiles. There really weren’t many guys that even caught her interest much less her eye. Finally she came across an ad from a guy with long hair wearing a leather jacket. She clicked on his profile to get his details. He looked like he could be the dangerous type she thought, a real bad boy. This excited her. She studied his picture intently. She could see a sort of childlike innocence in his deep green eyes. She decided that maybe he was worth an e-mail at least. She would lose nothing even if he turned out to be a jerk or some sort of maniac. She wrote out a short letter and hit the send button. All she could do now was to wait.
David was surprised when he found an email from the personals site. He had almost forgotten he had even placed the ad. He had never had very much luck with dating sites. He found the women to be a bit too mainstream to be interested in someone like him. David was a strange mixture of traditional values, left field philosophies, nonconformity and BDSM kink. He had always felt that finding a female who was like him would be impossible. He clicked open the message and read the short letter from Emma. Hmmmm... She looks like she could be just different enough to be interesting, he thought. He composed a quick response describing some of the more unusual things about himself. About ninety-eight percent of the time, his eccentricities were enough to send women running. He always thought that being up front about his quirks was the best way to go. It saved a lot of time that would have been wasted on dates with women who would just end up thinking he was just a freak. He sent the message not really expecting to hear back from her.
Later that afternoon he received a reply from her. She seemed to be cool with his quirks. He wrote her

Hi there AlanLawLess, you are on to something good here :0) Myst and Paco have spoken true words about this story and their feelings an
d instincts are very perceptive. I have red this and will be reading more
of your BDSM. These two characters sparkle, they have depth, here they nee
d a serious work up and rounding out and you will have two literary people
you can talk to on paper for inspiration. That’s an important point Alan…
every writer need all the inspiration they can get and you would be amazed
at how many good writer never get this technique. I want you to get it bec
ause I think you do get it you just may not have ever seriously expanded tw
o characters and used them to their fullest in your writer’s notebook.
There is a reason romance writers fall in love with there characters, chara
cters will take on a life of their own if you let them live and breathe. S
et them free to wonder through your writers note book. Listen to what they
want to tell you they do develop wisdom of their own after a while. Great
job here, you are on to something don’t let this slip through your fingers
. SlowHand: “Light scented candles, and put your cat-of-nine and keep your
feathers where you can see and feel them. Put your collar on the top of y
our monitor while you are developing these characters; put it here where yo
u can see it. Breathe life into those two characters you will love doing it
. Keep writing, above all, keep writing.”

An enjoyable read Well written with just the right amount of suspense. Writer obviously knows what he is writing about and the story was such that it sounded like an happening that did indeed occur.
I agree with the previous post that continuation of these two would be well worth reading more about as one really does want to know how much more training and domination happens between them. Write on!
