She closed the door and dumped the jumble of envelopes and handbills on the sideboard. There were the usual bills, catalogues, junk mail and a few interesting envelopes- but they could wait while she changed out of her work clothes. The conservative dress and blouse gave way to casual attire. Clara enjoyed padding round her bedsitter with as few clothes as possible. Away from prying eyes, she let her inner self rule the day. Most of her close friends were not as adventurous as her, nor did they recognize the conflicting emotions she battled daily. Being a teacher, discipline was high on her agenda; but away from school she was a totally different person. Clara headed to the kitchen, but as she passed the sideboard she noticed an official looking envelope in the pile of mail. Curiosity saw her pick up and examine both sides of the letter. When she saw the return address her heart leapt inside her chest. She tore open the envelope and looked inside. There were two folded pages and a business card. The pages were bonded stationery and oozed officialdom. Clara continued on to the kitchen to put on a kettle of water before opening the terribly intriguing pages. That done, she sat at the kitchen table and unfolded the pages. The addressee was The Chancellor of the most exclusive girls school in this area. One line gained her immediate interest- her interview was set down for 9am the following Monday. Punctual attendance was expected and confirmation required either by phone or email by Tuesday's close of business. Clara had no idea why the letter had been sent, but after reading it fully, it became obvious the recommendation had come from her current headmaster. Now she understood the previous cryptic conversations with the head about her future teaching prospects. Grabbing her mobile she rang school and had an enlightening conversation, which she concluded with a promise to attend the interview. The rest of her week passed without further surprises. She rang to confirm attendance on Tuesday as required. As always she had her classes well prepared in advance and her students, diligent young adults with high aspirations, caused no major problems for her. Thus, Clara was able to prepare herself for the interview- in her eyes it was preferable not to attend rather than to waste such a valuable opportunity. By the eve of her interview everything she could possibly do was done. She selected an austere black suit that fitted well and would impress her benefactors. Satisfied, she turned in early determined to be at her best tomorrow. The alarm clock rattled her nightstand at 6am and interrupted her reveries. She hit the off button on the alarm and stumbled out of bed. After putting on the kettle and adding some porridge to a saucepan of water on the stove, Clara headed for the shower. She was all efficiency today and ignored the delicious feelings as her hands and washer brushed over her breasts. Clara rushed through her shower, intent on giving herself tons of time to dry her hair and prepare her face. Black lingerie was the only pampering she allowed. Black lace bra, matching thong and garter belt with thin gossamer-like hosiery with black high heel shoes were the finishing touches to her outfit. Clara enjoyed wearing saucy underthings beneath her teaching apparel, giving an air of modesty while only she knew what was underneath.
