Aly sat in her car waiting for the message to appear on her phone. She had brought a picnic and some wine. It had been months since she had seen him and she was already turned on…wondering if he would feel the same way. She reapplied her lipstick in the rear view mirror and changed the CD. Her phone vibrated on the passenger seat. She hardly dared pick it up…1 new message. “The usual place. 10 mins! M xx.” She swallowed hard. He was here… Mike made his way down the path; his white shirt was reflecting the sun. He pulled his shades out of his pocket and put them on. He stopped and bent down to pick up a peacock feather. He recognised the place straight away, the enormous tree. He leaned against it and checked his watch… she would be here soon. Aly’s heart was in her mouth as she came around the corner and the path came into view. You had to be a local to know this part of the woods…not many people came this way, just the odd dog walker. Her stomach did somersaults as she realised he was already there. Her pace slowed as she took in his shape draped against their tree. He was still the same…maybe even a little more handsome. She took a deep breath and stepped forward out of the bushes. “Hello stranger!” Mike’s face turned to find the voice. A smile grew across his face, it was enough to drive her mad. He walked towards her and hugged her. “Aly, darling, I’m so glad you called me. I’ve been thinking about you.” He raised an eyebrow and smiled crookedly. He placed a hand on each shoulder and kissed her on both cheeks. He could feel her trembling and smiled to himself. Aly pulled the blanket from the basket and laid it out in their old hidden away meeting place. Images of the times they had spent here running through her head. She felt her heart skip at the memory of his touch and how his smile touched her. She set the basket down on the floor. They both sat and Mike opened the wine. They ate, talked and laughed…a little strained at first but easier with time. The tension was unbearable. He wanted to touch her but didn’t dare. He was hot and turned on- she always did that to him, drove him mad. He watched her lick her fingers as she slid a strawberry into her mouth. She watched him lick his lips as he drank the last of his wine. It was still there and stronger than ever. They lay side by side on the blanket, enjoying the sunshine and the quiet. Mike lay on his side, his head propped up on his hand. He ran the peacock feather over her arms. “I should go soon… I’ll be missed.” Aly spoke with worry in her voice. Mike moved the peacock feather to her legs, long gentle strokes, almost touching but not quite. He brought it up to her midriff. He teased her waist and she squeezed her thighs together trying to mask the feelings she was being subjected to by her sensitive body. “I don’t know why you don’t just end it…you are not happy with him.” Aly rolled her eyes. Not again. |
