"I don't know what the fuck you're talking about!" he yelled and continued staring at her. Damn, he was confused, and had the oddest feeling something horrible was about to happen.
"I'm trying to explain it to you, if you would just listen and stop assuming things!" she cried out. Her eyes full of unshed tears she tried so hard to hold back. She loved him, more than life itself. He was everything to her, and she was willing to give that up to see him happy. Even if it wasn't with her. The thought alone stung her eyes with another wave of tears.
"Are you leaving me?" There was a slight catch in his voice, and she knew the words were hard to say, and the thought even harder to imagine. His stare was so intense she had to look away… oblivious to how that would effect him… and how guilty it made her look. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. He was waiting to hear the most awful words in the world.
"No..." she whispered, just as choked up as he was.
He hadn't realized it, but he was holding his breath. He released it in a slow even manner and continued to look at her, as if questioning her answer.
The tears she fought so hard to control came rushing down her cheeks and she lost what little composure she had left. "Dammit! I want to be with you forever! But you deserve more... You deserve the happiness you give me, not ripped away from the only life you've ever known!" She was sobbing uncontrollably now. She wrapped her arms around herself and looked at the floor. "I can't take away your life just to benefit mine..."
He knew exactly what she was talking about. He had arrived here no more than 12 hours ago from an ocean away. They had met each other online and found kinship they weren't expecting. And a love they both shared. It was during that time they talked about all kinds of things… and then the topic of meeting. It was a hard thing to grasp. The distance between them was huge, and they both knew it. When he arrived they had spent a wonderful day together, talking and laughing. Everything he'd thought meeting her would be. And now this…
Wasn't he here now? Dammit, didn't that count for something? He stood there, watching the tears fall down her face, not sure of what to do. Should he try to hold her? Would she let him? Fuck, this was just as hard for him as it was for her. Didn't she realize that?
He let out a small sigh and took a step towards her. "I love you. I want to be with you. I want you to be in my life." His gaze never left hers and there wasn't the least bit of doubt in his eyes.
She looked up at him and realized she'd been a complete fool. Implying he shouldn't be with her, and almost making him want to leave was probably the stupidest thing she'd ever done. And now she realized... she'd nearly lost him. In less than a heartbeat she flung herself into his arms. Her cries were mixed of joy and sorrow. She held him as if releasing him would wake her from the dream she was surely in. He held her tight and kissed away one tear at a time, allowing her to release

*Wince* Romantic, erotic, wonderful in every way, emotional, touching, but ohhh so painful.
An amazing story, truly amazing. I can't compliment you enough. Just bad timing
for me to read about someone being afraid of losing her lover. Wonderful story
though. Much more realistic than many I've read.
