This is a true story. Strange, but true. If you don’t believe me, check the footnotes. Date: 26 Sept 2008 Time: 1130am Place: from Manchester, UK to Newark, NJ I was recently traveling home for one of my monthly trips. These are largely unpleasant journeys that make me want to buy all the sardines in the grocery store… and set them free. On this particular trip I was fortunate enough to get a window seat. Normally I prefer aisle seats, but this time I wanted to sleep and with a window seat one can curl up and not have seatmates constantly interrupting to go to the lavatory. So, soon after takeoff I had positioned myself with my head against the window, with one of those marvelous airplane pillows that enable maximum comfort. Having resigned myself to an uneventful nap, I was surprised when, about an hour into the flight, I could feel pressure against my cheek. Thinking I was still asleep and dreaming, I rearranged myself a bit, but the pressure persisted. Not wanting to totally wake up, I moved slightly away from the window and could see that the woman seated behind me had put her foot up between the seat and the window to stretch out and relax. I noticed her when we boarded, of course. Tall. Lithe. Great smile. And legs that reached all the way to the floor, if you know what I mean. We didn’t speak, but sometimes one can just tell there’s an electric spark without ever speaking. This was such a time. I began to study her foot more closely. Nice toes. Good arch. Wonderful scent… how did she smell like she just got out of the shower on an plane? And yet, she did. As I admired her foot she wriggled her toes… probably stretching them… but it could’ve been entrapment too. (I was voting for entrapment!) Beyond the obvious features mentioned, she had some remarkable body art. I’ve never seen feet so beautifully decorated. It was exciting just looking at them. I daydreamed about touching them. I studied them closely for 25 or 30 minutes… you know how it is with beauty. You can admire it for a long time. Unable to resist any longer, I reached out and touched a finger to one of her toes… as much to satisfy my innate curiosity as to gauge her reaction. I was thrilled that she didn’t retract her foot with a small shriek. In fact, she wiggled her toe and kept it there. Now, I was interested even more, and emboldened to take further action. I started admiring the beauty before me… long toes, nicely manicured, clear polish so as to not detract from the fantastic skin art on the top of her foot and up her ankle. Flowers, Asian designs, and even a replica of the LOVE statue from Philadelphia. Continuing further along, I leaned closer and touched my tongue to her big toe. I was amazed when she extended it to me for easier access. I licked it. And again. And again. And again. About this time I also peeked back to see her reaction. She was lying back in her seat, her eyes closed, and her lips slightly parted. I could see the tip of her tongue extending out between her nice white teeth. She |
