Arriving in Osaka…. Flight BA908 touched down in Kensai International Airport. It had been a long flight and Sam looked forward to a shower and a few hours sleep. He had slept on the plane but it was never the same no matter how comfortable those luxury seats seemed. This was his first time in Japan, a business trip but one of pleasure too he hoped. A single man, working in the travel industry, previously a holiday representative in his twenties, Sam had lived life to the full. Now in his early thirties he had started to settle down, writing for a holiday magazine, this trip being a perk of the job. He picked up his suitcase and followed the signs to get the bus. He was booked into The Ritz Carlton, by all accounts a wonderful example of Japanese hospitality in the hotel world. His email directed him to the Herbis Osaka bus stop. He picked up the courtesy phone and waited for assistance as instructed. This was all part of the job, as a normal tourist he would normally just have made his own way. He was writing for the magazine so he had to get his facts correct. He checked into the hotel. The old world beauty of the décor stunned him. He had requested a Japanese suite when booking. The receptionist called a porter to help Sam with his small case. Did they know he wrote for a magazine or was the courtesy extended to all one-bagged travellers? The porter placed Sam’s suitcase down beside the futon. Discreetly he tried to tip the young man as he took in the splendor of the room. The porter refused; how refreshing, Sam thought. The room was exactly as described, a Japanese suite. There was no bed but a futon. In the corner of the room a kimono draped on a stand. The shijobi screens separated the bathroom and bedroom, but more importantly he had a view of downtown Osaka. The bathroom had a bath and a separate shower. The review of the hotel would be an easy job. It was now late afternoon. Sam ran a bath, he wanted a shower, but decided a bath would help him relax more. Now unsure if he could sleep he would go and get something to eat. He undressed, throwing his pale blue t-shirt to the ground. His thumbs hooked into his jog pants, not his normal attire but comfortable for flying. He tested the water with his hand. Dropping his boxers, he stood naked; six foot tall, broad shoulders, his torso muscular. The young man was single with a long string of failed relationships behind him. He could never settle and this affected his relationships. He had yet to meet the girl who would settle him for good. Sam stepped into bath; the erotic surroundings captured his mind. He could see the kimono hanging in the other room through the opening in the screens. It was brightly coloured orange, with birds and clouds decorating the lower part of the long sleeved gown. He had done some brief research before his trip, the mystique around the Geisha being of high interest. His thoughts turned to the Geisha. How would it feel to have a Geisha help him bathe? His research taught him that this was one of their many duties. The research had also revealed that early Geisha or courtesans were male.
