Working in an office with someone you like is never easy. She knew that, it had happened to her in the past and it was happening all over again. This time, he was just so cute, she couldn’t stop thinking about him. They’d been working in the same office for the last two years and since summer this year she started to like him. She didn’t want to like him but she did. She was walking toward the office now, being 45 minutes early for her 10 am start she had decided to go sit in the café close to the office and have some tea to drink. Waiting for the tea, she saw him running past her, he was 15 minutes late for opening up the office. It was just the two of them today and she wasn’t looking forward to it. She always felt nervous coming into the office, knowing that it was just going to be the two of them. They got on well enough but she was worried that she would jump him at any time.

Having paid for her tea she walked towards the office. Breathe, woman, he’s cute but this is ridiculous, you’re like a teenager again. She could feel the butterflies in her stomach flying about. As she approached the door she took a deep breath in, smiled and walked in. He looked so cute, sitting at his chair.

“Morning,” he said, looking up and smiling.

She just wanted to melt right there on the floor.

“Morning,” she said taking a pen and signing her name in the book. “You want me to sign you in as well?”

“Yeah thanks, was late this morning,”

“I know, saw you running past the café,”

She took her bag off and headed to the kitchen in the back of the office. Switching the light on, she shut the door and hung her jacket and bag up. Slipping her phone in her pocket she went back into the main part of the office.

“New jacket?” he asked as he saw her

“Yeah, still need to pay the parents back for it. What you got for me this morning?”

“Signing in of cards, if you like?”

“I don’t like, but I will do. Who am I signing them in by?”

“Retirement.”

She turned round and collected a clipboard from her desk. Sighing, she turned round and started the horrible duty of signing in the Christmas cards in October. They had had the cards since August. She found it ridiculous, but they were selling so it wasn’t that bad. Half an hour later she came back into the main part of the office and sighed, flopping down on her chair.

“Done, at last,” she said.

“You’ll be happy to know that I now need you to go and see the grouchy woman next door for a paper.”

She looked up and started to fake cry, “Oh my God, I don’t want to see her.”

He laughed. “When you come back it will be tea time.”

“Fine, I’ll go,” she said, snatching the money out of his hands

Coming back in, she saw him sitting at his desk on the phone. He sounded so professional, as if he knew what he was talking about, and he did, but he sounded as if he was the boss, not an Admin Assistant.

 Sweet and..
Sweet and simple. Nice scenario. But write slower, take your time, more description ... let these lovers enjoy themselves. Julius
