Of course there are rules against it. Teachers have a lot of rules on how they can behave around students. You can’t punish them physically, you can’t swear. No name calling. Most of the rules are pretty obvious. This…. This definitely has to be against the rules. But sometimes… it was all he could do to control himself…

Suddenly Mr. Davis was forced back into reality with the sound of the school bell. He stood up and announced to his class that they were dismissed. “Don’t forget about the history quiz tomorrow morning!” he announced at the last minute. With all his daydreaming, he’d almost forgotten himself. He turned to erase the chalkboard, knowing she would come up to his desk in a few moments, after gathering her papers. She always asked for help with her math assignments.

“Mr. Davis?”

Her soft voice sent shivers up his spine.

“Yes Ms. Gray?” he asked, turning around to see her standing in front of his desk. Violet Gray was one of the newer students, transferring to Georgetown Prep School in late winter of last year. He had heard a lot about her intelligence and determination from her previous teacher, and she was well on her way to graduating with honors this spring. Her previous teacher had, however, failed to mention her striking looks. She stood about 5’2”, more than a foot shorter than Ben himself, which made it hard to believe she was truly eighteen. She had long dark brown hair that went down well past her shoulder blades on her back and beautiful blue eyes that he could lose himself in for hours…. If given the chance. Since the start of this math unit, Violet had been asking questions after school on a regular basis. With how her other teacher boasted about her previous education, he was sure she knew the answers to these questions before she asked. Was she as drawn to him as he was to her? He couldn’t get his hopes up.

“Yes, because the problem has a greater than sign, rather than an equals sign, you have to switch it to less than because you divided a negative number.”

“Oh right. I knew that. I’m sorry,” she stammered, a light pink color rising to her cheeks. She always got so embarrassed when she asked questions, which drove Ben crazy. Her innocence made his skin tingle, his mind jump from thought to thought about Ms. Violet Gray….

“Don’t be sorry, Ms. Gray. I’d much rather you ask me a silly question than fail a test. Besides, that’s what I’m here for.” He gave her a warm smile, and she shyly smiled back.

“Thank you Mr. Davis,” she said confidently, looking him directly in his green eyes. Her confidence took him off guard, and he felt himself grow hard. He sat down behind his desk immediately, to disguise it, shuffling papers around, making himself look busy.
