We were at an office Christmas party. My partner Mary and myself had had a few drinks and there was loud music, so there was more dancing than conversation. Desks had been moved aside and a space cleared for a dance floor. Later in the evening we danced for a while and then sat down. A friend called Paul came over and asked Mary to dance. It was OK with me, and I watched them sway slightly drunkenly on the floor while they chatted and obviously enjoyed themselves. After a while Mary came back and talked about what a nice guy Paul seemed to be. He was, and I told her he was one of the nicest blokes in the office. We talked and drank and exchanged a few jokes with drunken friends who fell over the table, laughing loudly. Then Paul came over and asked Mary to dance again. She raised her eyebrows at me as if to say "He's keen", but I smiled and told her to enjoy herself, as it was Christmas. They went off hand in hand and were soon dancing close together to a slow number. I thought they were probably getting a little too enthusiastic, but I needed the loo and staggered off. When I came back it took a minute or two to realise that they were no longer in view. I didn't worry - I just assumed they had gone to the loo as well, or gone to the buffet. I chatted to some friends who had sat near me and thought nothing of it for some time. Eventually, I realised that the people were thinning out and going home, and that Mary and Paul were still nowhere around. I got up and searched the corridors and offices with no result. I even popped my head round the door of the ladies' to see if she was in there, but the WC doors were all open and the place was empty. Finally, I went to the rest room, where staff could go if they felt unwell, or if there was some kind of medical check. There were actually two rooms, one opening off the other. The outer room was deserted, but I thought I heard a murmur through the open door of the inner room. I stepped up to it and glanced in. The lights were off, but there was a bright moon. Mary and Paul were standing together near the window. They kissed as I watched, and his hand slipped into her front-opening blouse. He moved it gently back and forth, and it didn't take a rocket scientist to work out what his hand was caressing. Nor, as I saw Mary lift her head and smile, did it take much guessing at the effect on her. She loves her breasts to be caressed and the nipples touched, and clearly Paul was hitting the spot. She was also clearly stroking his crotch through his trousers. I watched for a couple of minutes, and they continued kissing and stroking. Then I stepped in and before they knew what was happening had taken Mary's hand and kissed her face as she turned it to me in surprise. "Hi," I said. "I wondered where you were, but this is obviously where the action is." She began to speak, but I smothered her mouth with a kiss, mainly to show I didn't mind. As we kissed, I took Paul's hand at the wrist and slipped it back into her blouse. She pulled away from me. "Are you sure?" |
